NASEERABAD: A gas pipeline leading upto Auch Power Plant has been blown up in District Naseerabad of Balochistan on Sunday morning causing the suspension of gas supply to the power plant.
According to police, the unidentified miscreants blew up with a powerful explosion the gas pipeline of 24-inch diameter situated in the limits of Chhattar, which eventually suspended the gas supply to the power plant.
According to the police officials, large plumes of fire were seen in the wake of the event. The repair work of gas pipeline could not be started thus far.
Unidentified people fired three rockets at a security forces check post in Kohlu on Saturday. The rockets landed near the check post, but there were no reports of the loss of life or property.
Plot foiled to blow up gas pipeline
QUETTA, Oct 27: Pakistan Security forces claim to have on Saturday foiled an attempt to blow up a pipeline supplying gas from the Loti gas field to the main purification plant in Sui.
Official sources said some people had planted a powerful bomb under a 24 inches diameter pipeline connecting the Loti gas field with the Sui gas purification plant. Police defused the bomb after receiving a tip.
Meanwhile, militants fired rockets on a checkpoint of the Frontier Corps in Jandran Mountains. Sources said that the rockets were fired from Pari area of the Kohlu district. However, they missed the target and exploded near the check post.
