QUETTA: Three security personnel were injured and a civilian was killed in two separate incidents of blasts in Sibi and Chamaulang areas of Balochistan, according to officials on Tuesday.
Sibi District Police Officer Shariq Jamal said on telephone that the water tanker of the frontier constabulary was struck to a landmine in Bakhtiarabad, a remote area about 60 kilometres from Sibi district. Three personnel were injured in the blast and were rushed to the nearby hospital.
In another incident, unidentified people have attacked a truck carrying coal in Chamaulang area where a man was killed and another was injured. There were reports that the truck was struck to a landmine but it was not confirmed. A self-claimed spokesman of a banned Baloch Liberation Army claimed the responsibility of the attack on a truck in Chamaulang.
Reports pouring in from Kahan stated that unidentified people have fired couple of rockets at the FC check post near Kahan but no casualty was reported. Moreover, Councillor Almas Mari of union council Kahan said that the security forces were moved in Kahan from nearby areas and new check post was established in the hospital situated in the centre of the town.
He said that it creates difficulties for local people and many have opted for migration to Sibi and other nearby areas. Majority of people have already migrated from Sibi since 2005 when the military's activities were started in the area. But after some normalcy, many people returned to the town and have started their business.
Local officials said that the check post was established after increasing incidents of attacks in and around Kahan area and it was apprehended that local people might be supporting alleged Fararis in the area. The local people said that the security forces had launched a search operation in the area in first week of December where many people were arrested but majority of them were released.
