CID officer shot dead in Quetta

QUETTA: At least four Frontier Corp (FC) personnel and a civilian were killed and over nine people were injured in different blasts in the province on Sunday whereas unidentified people attacked national installations just a day before elections in the province.
Police said that a vehicle of Frontier Corp was targeted in Pirkoh area of Dera Bugti where four personnel were killed and one was injured. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the blast. Police said that FC was on routine patrolling in the area.
Meanwhile a self claimed spokesman of a banned militant organisation Baloch Republican Army, Sarbaz Baloch claimed the responsibility of the attack and said that the militants have also attacked another vehicle of the forces but it was not confirmed.
A vehicle in Patfeeder area struck a landmine where one person was killed and two other were injured. Patfeeder area was situated at the border of Sui and Dera Allah Yar. In another incident unknown people hurled a grenade at Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Killi Qambrani where three people were injured.
Local people said that unknown people have blown four electricity pylons, three in Kohlu and one in Dera Allah Yar. Electricity to Maewand area in Kohlu was suspended where as pylon in Dera Allah Yar was damaged partially.
Railway officials said that three blasts have damaged the track in Saryab area and Mach area where as a railway bridge was damaged near Speezend in Quetta.
APP adds: A sub-Inspector (SI) of CID police was shot dead when some unknown assailants opened fire at him here on Berwery Road on Sunday, an official of Berwery police station told APP.
The victim identified as SI Muhammad Shahid Raisani who was passing from Berwery Road on his motorcycle when unknown armed men targeted him. He sustained severe injuries as a result of firing and died on the spot. The assailants managed to escape from the scene.
