QUETTA: The floor of the Balochistan Assembly was rife with anti-President Pervez Musharraf sentiment on Tuesday, as members from all walks of the political spectrum demanded an end to the military operation in Balochistan.
Mir Asadullah Baloch, a BNP-Awami leader, said that the MPAs had been afraid to speak against Musharraf when he was army chief, as they feared persecution. He said they now lived in a democratic atmosphere and could speak against a man “who killed hundreds of Baloch”.
Senior PPP leader Sadiq Umrani, meanwhile, attacked PPP allies from the PML-Q by claiming that they had supported Musharraf’s military operation previously, but had changed their loyalties to gain ministries
