Govt claims of talks ‘pack of lies’: BLA

17.04.2008

QUETTA: The government’s claims of holding talks with Baloch insurgents are “pack of lies” and the new Balochistan Governor Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi and Chief Minister Nawab Aslam Raisani are “fooling themselves” by offering talks, the BLA said on Wednesday, and also issued a hit-list to kill two former governors and a former chief minister of Balochistan. In an interview with Daily Times, Bibarg Baloch, the BLA chief spokesman, said that Balochistan’s new governor and chief minister had lied with the people of Balochistan about holding talks with Baloch “freedom fighters”. He said the announcement was a political gimmick to achieve political gains and the support of military and intelligence quarters. “Neither the government contacted us nor are we interested in talks,” he added. The hit-list includes: former Balochistan governors Amirul Mulk Mengal and Owais Ahmed Ghani; former Balochistan chief minister Jam Muhammad Yousaf; former federal minister Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and former provincial home minister Mir Shoaib Nosherwani. malik siraj akbar
