Gunmen kill three security personnel Pirkoh blast hits gas pipeline

QUETTA, April 20: Three security personnel were killed and a bus driver was injured in Hub on Sunday night.

Police sources said two armed men on a motorcycle opened fire on an FC vehicle near the Gadani bus stop. “Two soldiers died and another succumbed to injuries in hospital,” police said.

The driver of a bus which was passing through the area at the time of the firing was injured.

Meanwhile, a Frontier Corps soldier was killed and another injured when a landmine exploded in Sangsella area of Dera Bugti.

Sources said the soldiers had stepped over the landmine during a routine patrol.

A checkpost of security forces came under attack in Kahan area of Kohlu district.

Sources said that some people fired around a dozen rockets on the checkpost but the rockets did not hit the post.

Pirkoh blast hits gas pipeline

An 18-inch diameter gas pipeline running from the Pirkoh gas field was destroyed on Sunday. Police told Geo Television that the blast caused six-foot-long ruptures in the pipeline. However, the gas supply was restored through an alternative pipeline within two hours. Repair work on the pipeline has been initiated.
