Balochistan: hundreds arrested houses searched in Quetta

24.04.2008

QUETTA: The Pakistani occupying forces made large-scale arrests in Quetta on Wednesday over the murder of a Punjabi informer and ISI installed Pro Vice Chancellor of Balochistan University, Mr Safdar Kiyani, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Mohamamd Akbar told Daily Times. Police sources are refusing to disclose the exact number of those detained. Arrests were made in the Sariab, Shalkot, New Kahan, Brewery and Saddar areas of the Balochistan’s capital, the CCPO said. “We are interrogating all the arrested people but no breakthrough has been made yet,” he said. Independent sources say the number of arrests made could be as high as 150.

BLA in a statement warned Punjabis to pack their things and leave Balochistan at the earliest and warned more attacks on occupying forces, as large numbers of Baloch youth throughout Balochistan joining different Baloch militant forces, to fight the last battle to throw out the stinking enemy from Balochistan.
