ISLAMABAD, May 15: The federal and Balochistan governments have worked out a plan for improving law and order in the province.
According to the plan finalised during a meeting between Balochistan Chief Minister Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani and Prime Minister’s Adviser on Interior Rehman Malik on Thursday, all political parties would be involved in decision making and preference would be given to the rule of law in the province.
The meeting was also attended by Minister for Population Welfare Humayun Aziz Kurd.
Mr Raisani and Mr Rehman agreed to approach the political parties for developing a consensus for the betterment of Balochistan.
The adviser assured support of the federal government for efforts to normalise the situation in the province.
The next meeting on Balochistan’s security issues will be held in Quetta and it will be presided over by Pakistan People’s Party co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari.
