Baloch leaders disappear after visiting HRCP office

29.05.2008

KARACHI: Baloch leaders who went missing for some time again disappeared after visiting the Human Rights Commission of Pakistan (HRCP) Karachi office, said the coordinator of HRCP Sindh, Ejaz Ahsan Wednesday. According to the HRCP Sindh’s Ghulam Muhammad Baloch, the president of the Balochistan National Movement (BNM), Wahab Baloch, the president of the Baloch Student Organization and Ilahi Bux Bikak lost contact soon after their visit to the office. “Ghulam Muhammad Baloch went missing for about eight to nine months and was released four months ago. Today, we call these people for information regarding their detention. After leaving our office, I am sure they have been once again abducted from Abdullah Haroon road because I contacted the Preedy and Artillery police stations but they have not been abducted by the police. I am constantly trying Wahab Baloch but his cell phone is off,” said Ahsan. Ahsan also said that Ghulam Muhammad Baloch told him that he was detained by government agencies and was kept at an unidentified place for about eight to nine months. These leaders visited the HRCP office at 6:00 p.m.
