WASHINGTON DC, July 8: Two U.S.-based Baluch groups have squarely blamed Pakistan's Inter Services Intelligence for the bomb blast in Kabul Monday that left scores of people, including the Indian defense attache Brigadier R.D. Mehta and seasoned diplomat V.V. Rao of India killed, and more than 150 injured.
They appealed to the U.S. government to stop all military aid and supplies to Pakistan if any semblance of sanity is to return to blood-marred geopolitical landscape of southwest Asia.
In a joint statement, Dr. Wahid Baloch, president of the Baloch Society of North America, and Ahmar Mustikhan, founder of the American Friends of Baluchistan, said the timing of the bomb attack on the Indian embassy clearly shows Pakistan involvement.
"The fact that there were bomb blasts in Islamabad and Karachi does not change anything," the two activists said. "Pakistani army and intelligence are known to kill the country's own leaders. The cases in point are the assassination of twice-premier Benazir Bhutto and former governor and chief minister of Baluchistan, Nawab Akbar Khan Bugti."
They said the bomb attack coincided with the revelations of the Father of the Islamic Bomb, A.Q. Khan, in which he said the Pakistan army and I.S.I. were equally complicit in his underworld nuclear arms bazaar.
They said last year during the protest for restoration of sacked judges under the direct tutelage of coup leader-turned-president Gen (R)Pervez Musharraf, the state agencies sponsored Muttahida Qaumi Movement terrorists to play an orgy of bodies in Karachi that left more than 43 people killed and 150 injured.
"What other proof can anyone ask for?" Baloch and Mustikhan said. "We condemn this Pakistani act of terror and our hearts and minds are with the bereaved families in Afghanistan and India," they said.
They said the only long-term solution is a peaceful Balkanization of Pakistan on the lines of the former Soviet Union. "The Baluch and Pashtuns are fully capable of defeating the terrorists. It is Punjabi and Mohajir generals who are playing nasty games locally, regionally and globally," they said.
