QUETTA, Aug 10 (APP): several police men and a prisoner were killed and many others were hurt when powerful explosions occurred in a police station in Quetta. The explosions took place in the armory of the Crimes Branch police station in Cantonment area in the early hours of Sunday, police officials told APP. The explosions continued for more than two hours and destroyed the police station building completely and damaged many vehicles, besides smashing windows of nearby buildings. The serial blasts could be heard in far off places and spread panic in the area. The CCPO Quetta Muhammad Akbar Arain told APP the cause was a rocket attack from nearby mountains but could not ascertain immediately. |
