QUETTA, Aug 13: Senator Dr Abdul Malik Baloch, the chief of National Party, said on Wednesday that usurpers, after looting resources of Balochistan, were conspiring to capture the land of Balochs and urged sons of the soil to unite against oppressors to protect the rights of the oppressed nation.
Speaking at a function organised by the Baloch Students Organisation in honour of newly-elected office-bearers of the National Party, Dr Malik condemned the military operation in the province.
He also criticised the Balochistan government for not changing the anti-people policies of the previous government.
He said that hundreds of political activists had been arrested and as many were missing, but the government was neither producing them before courts to prove charges against them nor tracing the missing and it proved that the government had no evidence against them.
He said the Baloch people would neither be pressurised nor cowed down by oppressors into compromising on their rights and they would continue struggle for their rights.
He asked the government to end military operation in the province, release all detainees, trace the missing and rehabilitate the displaced people, saying there would be no normalcy in the province unless these demands were met.
He lauded the role of Baloch Students Organisation and emphasised upon them to divert their attention towards studies as without education and peaceful atmosphere in educational institutions, students could not serve their nation. http://www.dawn.com/2008/08/14/top13.htm
