LAHORE: At least six people were killed and three injured when their vehicle hit a landmine in Dera Bugti district on Thursday, reported Dawn News.

The channel quoted official sources as saying that a truck, carrying pro-government Bugti commander Wadera Fazal Bugti and his colleagues, hit a landmine planted by unidentified men in the Loti area, killing Fazal Bugti and five of his companions. Three men were wounded and have been hospitalised. Wadera Fazal Bugti was a renegade commander of slain Bugti tribe chief Nawab Akbar Bugti, the channel reported. Law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area and started investigation.

Meanwhile, unidentified men killed a policeman near Askari Park, police said. The policeman, Muhammad Iqbal, was on duty when unidentified men shot him and fled. The police have registered a case.In a separate incident, unidentified men blew up a rail track in Quetta. Insurgents in Balochistan frequently target military and law-enforcement personnel, gas and oil pipelines, communications infrastructure and police barracks with rocket, grenade and mortar. staff report/daily times monitor/app
