Gazzain Marri may be next Balochistan Governor

23.09.2008

Ghulam Tahir

Quetta—Nawabzada Gazzain Marri, Moscow educated and Ex Home Minister, according to certain sources may be, named as the next Governor replacing Nawab Zulfikar Ali Magsi.

Gazzain Marri is brother in law of Nawab Zulfikar Ali Magsi. The arrangements would take place subject to the approval of Nawab Aslam Raisani and Nawab Zulfikar Ali Magsi. Nawab Magsi has earlier shown his displeasure holding the gubernatorial assignment maintaining that governorship is a ceremonial job and has little role or access to information who is engaged in the operation in certain areas of the province.

The prominent figures in Islamabad are already in touch with Nawabzada Gazzain Marri.

His passport has now been renewed as its renewal was earlier rejected by the Musharraf Government.

The cessation of hostile activities by the three militant organizations namely BLA, BRA and BLF in the province for a period of one month is significant gesture indicating some positive trends.
