QUETTA: Five Balochistan National Party-Mengal (BNP-M) activists, accused of masterminding a bomb blast in Gwadar in which three Chinese engineers were killed, are set to be released after four years detention.
Habib Jalib Baloch, central secretary general of the BNP, told Daily Times that four of his party's activists, some of whom had never visited Gwadar, had been implicated in the incident. Now a bench of the Balochistan High Court (BHC) had issued their release orders for lack of evidence.
“The BNP will give a rousing welcome to its activists today (Wednesday), as they have emerged victorious and not a single charge could be proved against them,” said Baloch. The BNP workers, including Aslam Gurgunari, Saeed Nothani, Khuda Baksh Bizanjo and two others, had been arrested four years ago in connection with a bomb blast in 2004. staff report
