Baloch leader condemns military operations

29.09.2008

By Amanullah Kasi

National Party Chief Senator Dr. Malik Baloch has condemned the escalation of military operation in Dera Bugti in which innocent people were killed or wounded and alleged that the security forces was once again bleeding the Balochs.

In a statement here on Monday he said though the government was changed, the establishment was still reluctant to change the behaviour against the Baloch people.

Malik Baloch regretted that the apologetic statements of the rulers and the assurances of the government to stop the military operation and empower the provinces to control their resources were just hollow slogans to deceive the Balochs.

The National Party leader stressed upon the government to halt the violence in Dera Bugti, Sui and Kohlu areas and withdraw the troops to their barracks in order to resolve the Balochistan issue politically through dialogues.

He cautioned the government that military actions or arrests could not force the
Baloch people to give up the struggle against the usurpers that have been looting the resources of Balochistan for last six decades.

Senator Baloch said that the party in collaboration with nationalist political
groups would continue the struggle against the oppressors to achieve the national rights for the Balochs and other oppressed nationalities in the country.
