LAHORE: A British court has acquitted Baloch nationalist leader Khair Buksh Marri’s son, Harbiyar Marri and his close aide Faiz Baloch of all cases against them, a private TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the channel, they were arrested in London on charges of carrying out terrorism and sabotage activities in Balochistan.
Harbiyar Marri was a provincial minister during the last regime of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz but went to London and sought asylum there after former president Pervez Musharraf took over in 1999.
He was arrested after law and order worsened in Balochistan. According to the channel, Baloch National Front leader Saddiq Raisani said the decision of the British court was proof that Harbiyar and his aide were innocent.
